Educators at Dunes International School are encouraged to use modern teaching practices and collaborate closely with colleagues and families to support student success.Role Description The Middle School English Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based at Dunes International School in Abu Dhabi. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging English language and literature lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching classes, assessing student progress through assignments and exams, and providing constructive feedback. The role also involves differentiating instruction to meet varied learning needs, maintaining classroom discipline, integrating reading and writing skills across subjects, and using educational technology where appropriate. The teacher will participate in staff meetings, parent conferences, and school events, and contribute to extracurricular and enrichment activities that support students’ language development and overall growth.Qualifications Strong English language proficiency, with the ability to teach grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing effectively.Experience designing age-appropriate lesson plans and assessments for middle school learners, following established curricula and standards.Skill in classroom management, student engagement, and creating an inclusive, respectful learning environment for diverse learners.Ability to use educational technology and digital resources to support instruction, communication, and student collaboration.Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Education, or a closely related field; formal teacher training and certification are highly desirable.Prior teaching experience at the middle school level, preferably in an international or multicultural school setting.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with colleagues, students, and families.Willingness to participate in professional development, contribute to school initiatives, and support extracurricular and co-curricular activities.
