This is a hands-on position suited to an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in craftsmanship, thrives in a team environment, and understands the importance of maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere for guests and colleagues.Job Duties Include:Provide consistent, high-quality service in a safe and efficient mannerFollow all hotel and departmental policies, safety protocols, and proceduresPrepare surfaces for painting by sanding, patching, caulking, priming, and sealingApply paint, stains, varnishes, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipmentMatch paint colors accurately for touch-ups and ensure uniform finishesPerform minor drywall repairs and remove or replace wallpaper when requiredComplete assigned painting work orders and scheduled preventative maintenance tasksEnsure all work is performed with minimal disruption to guests and hotel operationsMaintain a clean and organized work area and properly store and handle all materialsSafely handle paints, coatings, and chemicals in accordance with WHMIS and OH&S standardsAssist with inventory management of paint and supplies; report material needsWork collaboratively with other departments and trades to coordinate project timelinesTrain and guide junior team members or apprentices when neededKeep accurate records of time, tasks, and materials usedAdhere to the hotel’s vehicle safety and handling procedures when operating hotel vehiclesBe available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and on-call shiftsOther duties as assigned by the leader/supervisor.QualificationsYour Skills & Qualifications:5–10 years of professional painting experience, preferably in a commercial, hospitality, or large-scale facilityProficient in all phases of surface preparation, paint application, and finish workSkilled in drywall repair, patching, and wallpaper removalKnowledge of eco-friendly and low-VOC products and best practicesFamiliarity with WHMIS and OH&S workplace safety standardsComfortable using ladders, scaffolding, and power painting equipmentStrong attention to detail and ability to deliver a consistent, high-quality finishGood organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize tasksExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesValid Canadian driver’s license preferredPhysically capable of lifting up to 25 kg, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periodsProfessional, guest-focused demeanor and ability to remain calm under pressure
