Scalar Labs is the applied intelligence studio of Polaris. We build world models, optimization and agentic systems for energy, compute, food security, healthcare and resources, and run them inside the programs Polaris funds. We are judged on what runs, not on what we recommend.The roleTrain, evaluate and deploy the models inside our systems: forecasting, estimation and decision models built on operational data.What you will doBuild and train models on operational data from energy, agriculture and healthcare programsDesign evaluation that reflects how the system is used in operation, not only benchmark scoresTake models into production and own their performance after deploymentTurn an operating problem into a modeling problem with the program teamWhat you bringML systems you built that reached productionStrong Python and one of PyTorch or JAXExperience with time series, probabilistic modeling or representation learningComfort with incomplete, messy real-world dataHow we hireApplication: a short note, your CV and a link to something you built.Technical conversation with an engineer from the team, including the programs you would work on.Working session on a problem taken from one of our programs.Final conversation with the leadership team, then a decision.We do not publish our partners. We discuss programs in detail in the first technical conversation, under confidentiality where needed.
