Join us to be part of a dynamic team driving the future of digital payments and financial technology.Role OverviewAs a Backend Architect on the Pay&Card Team, you will be responsible for architecting and building card-related systems end to end. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and compliant infrastructure that supports card systems and lifecycle management.ResponsibilitiesArchitect, build, and maintain backend systems for card issuing and card lifecycle managementLead the technical design and implementation of card certification processes (Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay / Google Pay onboarding programs)Define and drive the system architecture, service boundaries, and integration patterns for card platform servicesEnsure system reliability, scalability, and compliance with payment network standardsCollaborate with product, compliance, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specificationsEstablish engineering best practices, code quality standards, and technical documentation for the teamWork hands-on — this is a builder role, not a pure advisory positionRequirements8+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Java / Spring expertiseDirect experience building or maintaining a card system Experience with card certification processes and/or card onboarding programsStrong system design and architecture skills, with experience in distributed systems and high-throughput payment infrastructureUnderstanding of card network standards, payment flows, and compliance requirementsPreferred QualificationsExperience at a fintech, startup, or crypto company that has issued cardsFamiliarity with card lifecycle management, tokenization, and payment gateway integrationsExperience working in agile, fast-paced environments with short release cyclesWhy BinanceShape the future of finance Collaborate with world-class talent in a user-centric global organization with a flat structureTackle challenging projects in a fast-paced and innovative enviornment with autonomyThrive in a results-driven workplace with opportunities for career growth and continuous learningCompetitive salary and company benefitsRemote-first, work-from-home arrangement (may vary depending on the nature of the role and team)Binance is committed to being an equal opportunity employer.
