Company Description The Central School (TCS), Dubai has been providing value-based and affordable education to the Asian diaspora for nearly four decades. The school focuses on creating a happy, positive, and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive academically and personally.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Librarian role based at The Central School in Dubai. The Librarian will manage and organize library resources, including print and digital collections, ensuring easy and equitable access for all learners and staff. Daily responsibilities include cataloging and maintaining materials, managing circulation, tracking inventory, and overseeing the library space to provide a safe, quiet, and welcoming environment. The Librarian will support teaching and learning by delivering library instruction, guiding learners in information literacy and research skills, and collaborating with educators to align resources with the curriculum. The role also involves developing policies, promoting reading culture through displays and events, and using library technologies and metadata standards for efficient resource management.Qualifications Strong foundation in Library Science and Library Services, including user support and reference assistance.Experience with Library Management, such as cataloging, classification, circulation, and collection development.Knowledge of Metadata standards and systems used for organizing and retrieving information.Ability to deliver effective Library Instruction, information literacy sessions, and research guidance for learners and staff.Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Studies, or a related field; professional library certification is an advantage.Proficiency with library management software and digital resources, including e-books and online databases.Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with educators and administrators.Commitment to learner-centric, inclusive practices and to fostering a positive reading and learning culture within the school.
