Firestop Technician / ApplicatorCompany: Gulf View Installation and Repair of Safety Systems – Sole Proprietorship LLCLocation: Abu Dhabi, UAEJob Type: Full-TimeJob DescriptionWe are looking for a Firestop Technician / Applicator to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the proper installation and application of passive fire protection systems at various project sites.Candidates with previous firestop experience are preferred. However, previous UAE experience is not mandatory, and candidates with relevant firestop experience from other countries are encouraged to apply.Responsibilities* Installation and application of approved firestop systems for MEP penetrations and construction joints.* Application of firestop sealants, firestop mortar, firestop collars, wraps, putty, rockwool/mineral wool, and other passive fire protection materials.* Firestopping of penetrations including cables, cable trays, steel pipes, PVC/CPVC pipes, ducts, busbars/bus risers, and mixed penetrations.* Installation of linear joint and head-of-wall firestop systems.* Proper cutting, packing, compression, and installation of mineral wool according to the approved system requirements.* Maintain the required sealant depth, annular space, backing depth, and installation configuration according to approved firestop details.* Read and follow approved UL-listed firestop system details, method statements, drawings, and site instructions.* Ensure surfaces and openings are properly prepared before firestop application.* Maintain clean and professional workmanship.* Install identification labels/stickers where required.* Report site conditions that do not match the approved firestop system before proceeding with installation.* Follow all project HSE and site safety requirements.* Coordinate with the supervisor/engineer for inspection and completion of works.Requirements* Previous experience as a Firestop Technician / Firestop Applicator is preferred.* UAE experience is not mandatory.* Practical knowledge of passive fire protection/firestopping is an advantage.* Experience with recognized firestop products such as Hilti, Fischer, 3M, STI, Sika, or equivalent is an advantage.* Ability to understand basic firestop details and installation requirements.* Good workmanship and attention to detail.* Ability to work on construction sites and as part of a team.* Must follow safety procedures and supervisor instructions.* Candidates who can join immediately will be preferred.
