We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Civil) with a strong background in construction and contracting to join our pre-construction and estimating team in Dubai. This is a critical role requiring expertise in cost estimation, quantity takeoffs, and bid preparation for civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in project planning, cost management, and supporting business development initiatives.Location Dubai, UAE Experience Required - Minimum 3+ years in civil construction estimation & costing Salary - AED 8000 (non negotiable) please do not apply if you are not comfortable with the salaryG+12 DM Approved License is a MUST (please do not apply if you do not been this criteria)About the RoleAs an Project Engineer (Civil), you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and detailed budgets for civil engineering and construction projects. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting bid preparation, project feasibility analysis, and cost control throughout project execution. This role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams, management, and clients.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed quantity take-offs (QTO) from architectural, structural, and civil engineering drawingsDevelop comprehensive cost estimates for civil works including earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, and infrastructureAnalyze project scope and specifications to identify cost drivers and optimization opportunitiesResearch and compile material and labor rate databases for cost estimation accuracyPrepare bid documents, tender responses, and cost proposals for clients and project competitionsConduct value engineering studies to reduce project costs without compromising qualityCollaborate with project managers and site teams on cost tracking and budget managementMonitor actual project costs against estimates and prepare cost analysis reportsPrepare preliminary estimates for feasibility studies and project planningAnalyze contract documents and specifications for cost implicationsObtain quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors for various project componentsPrepare cost breakdowns and financial schedules for projectsSupport management with cost-related queries and provide recommendations for cost savingsMaintain estimation records and documentation for historical data and future referenceRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering disciplineMinimum 4+ years of professional experience in cost estimation and quantity surveying for construction projectsStrong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and industry standardsProficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and civil engineering drawingsExpert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost calculations and data analysisExperience with estimation software (Cost Estimation Software, CODA, Touchplan, or similar)Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) for drawing interpretation and measurementStrong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost calculationsExcellent communication and presentation skills in English Preferred QualificationsProfessional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or Cost Engineer certificationExperience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and associated cost estimation toolsKnowledge of project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project)Familiarity with UAE building codes, standards, and cost index dataExperience in different civil project types: buildings, infrastructure, roads, utilities and high rise buildingsKnowledge of sustainability and green building cost implicationsPrior experience in the Middle East construction market and GCC cost structuresCore CompetenciesTechnical Expertise: Deep knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and cost driversAnalytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendationsCommunication: Clear and professional communication with diverse stakeholdersTime Management: Ability to meet tight deadline pressures and manage multiple estimatesCollaboration: Strong teamwork and ability to work effectively with engineering and commercial teamsWhat We Offer Comprehensive health insurance and medical benefitsProfessional development and technical training opportunitiesExposure to diverse civil engineering and construction projectsCareer advancement opportunities in pre-construction and estimating departmentsCollaborative work environment with experienced professionalsMust Have Valid UAE Driver's License
