Our legal function is a strategic partner to the business, not a bottleneck.Your Role in Our MissionAs Senior Legal Counsel, you own the legal layer that keeps NEXT Ventures operating safely and commercially at scale. You sit at the intersection of commercial, corporate, regulatory, and technology law — advising business teams, managing external counsel, and building the frameworks that let the Group move decisively in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments. You report to the Chief Legal Officer and take matters from first assessment through to resolution.Your ImpactDraft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts — service and vendor agreements, technology agreements, partnership and marketing arrangements, NDAs, and other commercial instrumentsProvide legal support on corporate matters including group structuring and reorganisations, corporate governance, intercompany arrangements, and general corporate housekeepingHandle cross-border and multi-jurisdictional legal matters across the Group's international entities and operationsDeliver legal and regulatory support to our fintech and financial services businesses, including licensing, regulatory interpretation, and compliance framework implementationGovern technology arrangements — software licensing, technology procurement, trading platform agreements, and technology provider contractsAdvise on privacy, data protection, and data-sharing matters arising from our operations and commercial relationshipsAdvise on intellectual property matters: ownership, protection, and licensing of IP and technology assetsSupport the Group's legal operations and strategic transactions — contract lifecycle management, legal process optimisation, and dispute resolution in collaboration with external counselConduct independent legal and regulatory research across multiple jurisdictions and translate findings into clear, commercially workable recommendationsLiaise with external counsel, corporate service providers, regulators, and professional advisers as requiredServe as a trusted day-to-day legal adviser to internal stakeholders across the Group, working closely with business, compliance, and operational teamsWhat You BringQualified lawyer with professional experience appropriate for a Senior Legal Counsel roleProven track record drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contractsStrong corporate law background — structuring, governance, and transactionsExperience navigating cross-border and multi-jurisdictional legal mattersSolid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in financial or technology sectorsHands-on experience with privacy, data protection, and intellectual property mattersAbility to conduct independent legal research and convert complex requirements into practical business guidanceStrong legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and spoken EnglishSelf-directed — you take ownership of matters from start to finish and know when to escalate to the CLOComfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving, international environmentCommercially minded and pragmatic, with an instinct for assessing legal risk against business objectivesExperience with fintech, regulated financial services, financial markets, or technology-driven businesses is a strong advantageWhy Join NEXT?You'll work on genuinely complex legal challenges across multiple jurisdictions and business lines — not routine contract reviews on repeat.
