Position Title: Mechanical TechnicianReporting: Administrative: Sourcing DirectorJob Family: Field OperationsJob PurposeThe primary responsibility of the Mechanic – Steam and Gas - is to safely accomplish the installation, maintenance, inspection and repair of the heavy rotating machinery used mainly in power generation applications. Turbine Mechanics. Work closely with Supervisors, HSE personnel, and the Operations Department to achieve these goals.Key AccountabilitiesEssential FunctionRead schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures.Dismantle and assemble machinery and equipment using a variety of hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools.Move machinery, parts and equipment using hoists, cranes, chain falls and trucks.Align machinery and equipment using hoists, squares, micrometers, dial indicators or based on laser alignment equipment specialist recommendations.Perform machine and component inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, calipers,Responsible for control of tools, equipment and suppliesPerform other duties as assigned Communication & Working RelationshipsInternal: Needs to work closely with the Outage Managers, Field Service Engineers and SupervisorsExternal: Needs to build a rapport with plant crews and contractorsQualifications, Experience, & SkillsDiploma in Technical Field, Gas Turbine Systems Technician preferredMust have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines.Must possess minimum experience for utilization of toolingGood understanding of latest technology and innovationKnowledge of applicable legal / quality / HSSE requirementsGood knowledge of power plant operations, maintenance, its equipment’s, practices, proceduresWilling to travelWilling to work on international sites, in hardship locations and shift work Behavioural CompetenciesAchievement OrientedTeam playerAble to work with several cultures at the same timePunctual, follow the team shift timings and lead by example.Must follow the works at site daily, as assigned from leadership
