Job Vacancy – Senior Lighting DesignerSpecialization: Architectural Lighting DesignWe are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Lighting Designer with strong design capabilities, sound technical knowledge, proven team leadership, excellent client relationship skills, and a collaborative, positive attitude.The ideal candidate is highly creative and a compelling storyteller. They show professional maturity and accountability, and they lead design teams to deliver high-quality architectural lighting solutions across diverse project typologies. They embrace AI tools and new technology to elevate both design quality and studio efficiency.Key Responsibilities• Lead and contribute to architectural lighting design projects from concept development through detailed design and construction documentation.• Lead, manage and motivate design teams of all experience levels, including junior, mid-level and senior designers. Allocate work, set priorities and make sure teams deliver to programme and quality standards.• Develop creative, original lighting concepts that respond to architectural intent and set projects apart.• Use strong storytelling to shape compelling design narratives, mood boards, presentations and concept design reports that bring the design vision to life for clients and stakeholders.• Actively use and champion AI tools, such as AI-assisted visualisation, concept generation, research, documentation and workflow automation, and encourage the team to adopt them to improve creativity, quality and efficiency.• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, architects, interior designers, consultants and other stakeholders.• Demonstrate sound technical knowledge of lighting principles, luminaire selection, lighting calculations, control systems and relevant international standards.• Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary design teams so that lighting integrates seamlessly with architectural and interior environments.• Review design deliverables to ensure technical accuracy, design consistency and compliance with project requirements.• Present lighting design proposals confidently during client meetings, design workshops and technical discussions.• Coach and develop team members at every level, and build a positive, supportive and accountable team environment.• Take ownership of assigned projects, proactively resolve design challenges, and ensure timely, high-quality submissions.Qualifications & Experience• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline.• Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in architectural lighting design, preferably within an international design consultancy.• Proven experience leading and managing design teams, including experienced and senior designers, not only junior staff.• Strong portfolio demonstrating creative conceptual thinking, compelling design storytelling, successful project delivery and high-quality lighting design presentations.• Proven ability to prepare well-structured concept design reports, design narratives and client presentations.• Sound understanding of lighting calculations, photometric principles, lighting controls (DALI, DMX, etc.) and international lighting standards.• Proficiency in lighting design and presentation software such as DIALux, AGi32, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant tools.• Hands-on proficiency with AI tools (e.g. generative image and visualisation tools, AI assistants, and automation for documentation and workflows), and enthusiasm for bringing them into everyday design practice.• Professional membership, certification, or active involvement with internationally recognized lighting organizations such as IES (formerly IESNA), CIBSE / Society of Light and Lighting (SLL), or ILP will be considered a strong advantage.• Experience working on hospitality, mixed-use, commercial, residential, public realm or large-scale architectural projects is desirable.Key Personal AttributesWe place significant importance on professional attitude, leadership and interpersonal skills, alongside design and technical competence.• Positive Attitude & Professional Integrity: Demonstrates respect, humility, accountability, a solution-oriented mindset and willingness to accept feedback.• Team Leadership: Inspires, guides and manages design teams at all levels.
