Join our family.Position Title: Business AnalystDepartment: Data & Analytics/ Shared Services/ Financial Group ControlLocation: Damen Shared Services, Abu DhabiReports To: Manager Data AnalyticsEmployment Type: Full-TimeJob PurposeAs a Business Analyst at Damen, you play a key role in understanding business needs and translating them into actionable data and reporting solutions. You act as a bridge between business stakeholders and data/IT teams, ensuring that requirements are clearly defined, challenged where needed, and converted into meaningful dashboards, KPIs, and insights that support decision-making.This role requires strong business understanding, stakeholder engagement, excellent communication skills and the ability to translate operational needs into structured BI solutions, with a focus on driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.About The OrganizationYou will join an international organization where data and analytics are increasingly central to decision-making. The organization is actively professionalizing its data and BI landscape, with teams operating across multiple international locations.A central data and analytics team collaborates with specialized teams for data engineering, data platform management, and dashboard development. Key focus areas include strengthening data governance, standardizing reports, and KPI definitions, and developing organization-wide dashboards.Over the coming years, the data and BI domain will continue to expand, with the objective of embedding data-driven working practices across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Understanding & Stakeholder Engagement:Develop strong understanding of business operations and processesAct as trusted advisor to stakeholders (Finance, Operations, Projects)Proactively challenge business requirements and assumptions to ensure clarity and feasibilityFamiliar with the agile way of workingFacilitate workshops to define KPIs and reporting needsRequirements Translation & Solution DesignTranslate business needs into functional requirements and user storiesAlign business expectations with data models, dashboards, and reporting solutionsAct as the bridge between business and technical/data teamsBI & ReportingSupport development of Power BI dashboards and reporting solutionsDefine and standardize KPIs and reporting frameworksEnsure outputs are business-relevant, actionable, and aligned with decision-making needsData Governance & KPI StandardizationDrive consistency in KPI definitions and reporting structuresSupport data governance initiatives and best practicesStakeholder EnablementSupport stakeholders in interpreting dashboards and insightsProvide guidance and training on data-driven decision-makingKey AccountabilitiesClear translation of business needs into (BI) solutionsAdoption of standardized KPI frameworksDelivery of business-relevant dashboards and insightsStrong alignment between business stakeholders and data/IT teamsImproved data-driven decision-making across the organizationQualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fieldExperience5–8 years in Business Analysis or BI/reporting rolesStrong stakeholder management and requirement gathering experienceProven experience translating business needs into data and BI solutionsMandatory experience in a project-based, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environmentExposure to finance, business control, or operations domains is requiredBusiness KnowledgeStrong understanding of project-based environments and operationsExperience working with finance, business control, or operational teamsAbility to connect business processes with data and reporting solutionsTechnical SkillsPower BI (incl. Star Schema or similar relations)ERP systems (SAP, IFS, Dynamics)Understanding of data modelling conceptsSoft SkillsStrong communication and stakeholder engagementAbility to challenge requirements constructivelyAbility to translate between business and technical teamsProactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindsetProfessional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
