Terracotta is currently recruiting experienced Planning & Control Managers on behalf of a leading organization within the UAE's Utilities sector.We are seeking professionals for two opportunities, specializing in Conventional Power (CCGT) and Renewable Energy (Solar PV & BESS). These roles offer an excellent opportunity to oversee the planning, scheduling and project controls of major utility-scale energy projects, ensuring effective project execution, schedule compliance, risk mitigation and performance monitoring.The successful candidates will work closely with Project Companies, EPC contractors and senior stakeholders, providing independent oversight and ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual requirements, approved schedules and project objectives.Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE (On-site)Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Schedule ManagementOversee project planning and scheduling activities across large-scale power generation or renewable energy projects.Review, validate and challenge EPC contractor baseline schedules, including Level 3 and Level 4 schedules, critical paths, milestones and progress forecasts.Monitor project progress against approved schedules, identifying delays, risks and potential impacts on key contractual milestones.Evaluate recovery plans and recommend corrective actions to mitigate schedule delays.Ensure compliance with EPC contracts, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Owner's project control requirements.2. EPC Contractor Oversight & Project ControlsProvide independent oversight of EPC contractor planning, scheduling and project controls performance.Review project control plans, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), progress curves, reporting systems and schedule updates.Coordinate with Project Company teams, EPC contractors and engineering stakeholders to monitor construction progress and resource requirements.Participate in project planning meetings, progress reviews and site assessments to ensure alignment with project delivery objectives.Identify project risks, schedule deviations and potential contractual issues, escalating concerns to senior management.3. Risk Management, Claims & ReportingConduct critical path analysis and assess schedule impacts arising from project changes, delays and variations.Monitor time-related claims, including Extension of Time (EOT) submissions and potential schedule-related disputes.Review EPC contractor progress reports and prepare management-level updates on project performance, milestones, risks and recovery actions.Support project teams in evaluating schedule risks and implementing mitigation strategies.Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering and Commercial teams to ensure effective project controls governance.Position 1: Planning & Control Manager – Conventional Power (CCGT)Responsible for independent shareholder-level planning and project controls assurance across large-scale Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power generation projects.Specific Requirements:Experience in large-scale CCGT power generation projects (500 MW+).Strong background in EPC project planning, scheduling and construction-phase project controls.Demonstrated expertise in delay analysis, EOT assessments, forensic schedule analysis and claims support.Experience conducting schedule quality reviews, critical path assessments and recovery schedule evaluations.Knowledge of quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis, including Monte Carlo techniques and risk-adjusted forecasting.Experience in IPP projects, with Owner/Developer exposure preferred.Position 2: Planning & Control Manager – Renewable Energy (Solar PV & BESS)Responsible for planning and project controls oversight across utility-scale solar PV and renewable energy projects, ensuring EPC schedule compliance and effective project delivery.Specific Requirements:Experience in large-scale solar PV power projects (500 MW+), with BESS exposure.Strong EPC-side experience in planning, scheduling and project controls during construction and execution.Experience reviewing EPC baseline schedules, critical path activities, project milestones and recovery plans.Knowledge of renewable energy project development, construction, commissioning and handover requirements.Experience in IPP projects, with Owner/Developer exposure preferred.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering.10+ years of experience in planning, scheduling and project controls within large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.Minimum 6 years of experience in power generation projects, with at least two fully completed projects.Mandatory EPC-side experience, preferably supplemented by Owner, Developer or IPP experience.Strong knowledge of project planning, critical path analysis, schedule management, progress monitoring and contractor performance evaluation.Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office applications.Strong understanding of EPC contractual requirements, project milestones, schedule risks and reporting.Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and conduct project site assessments.Preferred CertificationsPMP (Project Management Professional)PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional)AACE Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP)
