Transformer Testing Engineer – Role OverviewA Transformer Testing Engineer is responsible for carrying out factory, site, pre?commissioning, and commissioning tests on power and distribution transformers to ensure compliance with IEC / IEEE / IS standards, project specifications, and client requirements.Perform site testing & commissioningReview and verify OEM / FAT / SAT reportsCoordinate with construction, protection, and commissioning teamsPrepare test reports, checklists, and as?built documentationEnsure compliance with HSE requirements during testing activitiesInterface with client / consultant during inspections and approvalsBE / BTech / Diploma in Electrical EngineeringTypically 5–10 years experience in transformer testing & commissioningHands?on experience with EHV / HV / MV transformersStrong knowledge of:IEC 60076IEEE transformer standardsExperience in substation projects (GIS / AIS preferred) Skills RequiredTransformer testing instruments & diagnostic toolsInterpretation of test results and fault analysisSite coordination & documentation controlGood communication with OEMs and client teams
