AI Applied Research ScientistAbout the CompanyOur Financial Services Client has established an AI Innovation Cente as the focal point for artificial intelligence strategy, innovation and adoption across the organisation. The hub brings together business stakeholders, technology teams, start-ups, research institutions and specialist partners to identify, evaluate and scale AI capabilities that enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, risk management and business performance. The organisation is investing significantly in AI, data and digital transformation to build a future-ready enterpriseRole PurposeResearch, evaluate and industrialise emerging AI technologies that can create competitive advantage across banking products and operations.Key Responsibilities· Evaluate emerging LLMs and foundation models· Conduct applied AI research· Develop novel NLP and GenAI use cases· Publish internal research papers and innovation findings· Partner with universities and technology vendors· Transfer research into engineering teamsEssential Skills· LLMs· RAG· Multi-Agent Systems· Reinforcement Learning· AI Evaluation· NLP· Deep Learning· Research MethodologiesExperience· PhD preferred· Published research· Experience translating research into production environments
