Job OverviewOur customer is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to play a pivotal role in managing project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting for high-impact electrical and infrastructure projects. In this critical position, you will develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project milestones and contractual commitments. Your responsibilities will include tracking progress against planned timelines, identifying potential delays and risks, and implementing proactive recovery strategies to maintain project momentum. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, testing & commissioning, as well as clients and external consultants. By fostering seamless coordination, you will help ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in strict adherence to contractual, ISO, and HSE standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, leveraging analytical skills and technical expertise to drive project success in the UAE’s engineering and construction sector.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain detailed Primavera P6 project schedules and baseline programmes for electrical and infrastructure projects.Monitor planned versus actual project progress and prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly progress reports, including S-curves and look-ahead schedules.Track and document all project activities, including engineering deliverables, procurement, materials management, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.Identify schedule delays, risks, and critical-path activities, and develop proactive recovery and mitigation plans to ensure project timelines are met.Support delay analysis, extension of time (EOT) submissions, and project controls to align with contractual obligations and project objectives.Coordinate closely with Project Managers, site teams, procurement departments, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.Ensure all project reporting and planning activities comply with contractual requirements, ISO standards, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation.3–5 years of relevant experience as a Planning Engineer.Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6.Experience in electrical, utility, substation, or infrastructure projects; UAE utility experience is an advantage.Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and delay analysis.Experience with MS Excel; MS Project and Power BI are an advantage.Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.Required SkillsAdvanced proficiency in Primavera P6 for developing and maintaining detailed project schedules and baseline programs.Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and delay analysis for electrical and infrastructure projects.Experience tracking and reporting on engineering deliverables, procurement, materials, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.Familiarity with progress reporting tools including MS Excel, with additional advantage in MS Project and Power BI.Ability to identify schedule delays, risks, and critical-path activities, and develop recovery or mitigation plans.Knowledge of contract management, extension of time (EOT) submissions, and claims procedures.Excellent communication and coordination skills to liaise effectively with project managers, site teams, procurement, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.Analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure project reporting and planning activities comply with contractual, ISO, and HSE requirements.Capacity to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.Employment InformationLocation: Abu Dhabi, UAEWork Setup: On-siteWorking Hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM (including a one-hour break)Availability: Immediate joining preferredTransportation: Provided by the company to the site locationRole Type: Permanent
