We're Hiring: Senior Payment Gateway SpecialistLocation: United Arab Emirates (Remote)Employment Type: Full-TimeExperience Level: SeniorWork Arrangement: Fully RemoteAbout UsWe are a globally focused organization committed to delivering secure, scalable, reliable, and high-performing digital payment solutions across diverse markets.Our Payments, Technology, Product, Operations, Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Commercial teams work together with banks, payment processors, gateways, card networks, merchants, and technology partners to deliver seamless payment experiences and resilient transaction infrastructure.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Payment Gateway Specialist to manage, optimize, and continuously improve payment gateway operations, integrations, transaction processing, payment routing, merchant connectivity, and gateway performance.The ideal candidate will combine strong technical and operational knowledge of payment gateways with expertise in transaction flows, APIs, payment methods, processors, acquiring systems, security, reconciliation, and incident management. The role will work closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance, merchants, processors, and external payment partners to ensure reliable and efficient payment processing.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day payment gateway operations across supported markets, merchants, payment methods, and transaction channels.Develop and maintain payment gateway operating standards, procedures, controls, and service requirements.Coordinate payment gateway integrations with merchants, payment service providers, acquirers, processors, banks, and technology partners.Review technical and business requirements for new payment gateway integrations.Support merchant onboarding, gateway configuration, account setup, and payment-method activation.Configure and maintain merchant profiles, routing rules, transaction parameters, currencies, limits, and gateway settings.Coordinate API, SDK, hosted-payment-page, tokenization, and other gateway integration requirements.Review payment integration specifications and ensure implementation requirements are clearly documented.Support sandbox testing, certification, user acceptance testing, production readiness, and go-live activities.Validate transaction flows across authorization, capture, clearing, settlement, refund, reversal, and chargeback processes.Monitor gateway transaction performance, availability, latency, error rates, approval rates, and processing success.Analyze transaction failures, API errors, timeouts, declined transactions, duplicate transactions, and processing exceptions.Investigate gateway incidents and coordinate root-cause analysis with Engineering, Infrastructure, Processors, and external providers.Manage payment incidents from identification through resolution, validation, and post-incident review.Establish escalation procedures for critical payment-processing failures and service disruptions.Monitor gateway uptime and ensure compliance with agreed service-level objectives and SLAs.Coordinate with infrastructure and technology teams to maintain gateway resilience, scalability, capacity, and performance.Monitor gateway capacity and identify potential performance constraints before they affect transaction processing.Analyze transaction logs, gateway responses, API messages, system alerts, and processing data to identify issues.Support technical troubleshooting using transaction references, response codes, error codes, logs, and integration data.Monitor and optimize payment routing across acquirers, processors, payment methods, and geographic markets.Evaluate routing performance based on approval rates, processing costs, availability, latency, risk, and merchant requirements.Support intelligent routing, failover, retry, and transaction-recovery strategies where applicable.Ensure gateway routing rules are accurately configured, documented, tested, and controlled.Coordinate multi-acquirer and multi-processor connectivity to improve resilience and payment acceptance.Monitor alternative payment methods, digital wallets, bank transfers, account-to-account payments, and emerging payment technologies.Support the integration and operational management of new payment methods.Ensure payment-method configurations are accurate across currencies, countries, merchants, and transaction types.Work with Product and Engineering teams to define gateway functionality and payment-processing enhancements.Translate payment-business requirements into clear technical and operational specifications.Participate in payment gateway platform implementations, migrations, upgrades, and modernization programs.Coordinate processor migrations and gateway transition activities while minimizing transaction disruption.Support gateway testing for new releases, integrations, configuration changes, and infrastructure upgrades.Develop and maintain comprehensive payment gateway test scenarios and transaction validation procedures.Monitor production changes and validate transaction processing following releases or configuration updates.Ensure payment gateway changes follow appropriate change-management, approval, testing, and rollback procedures.Support payment security requirements, including PCI DSS-related controls and secure handling of payment data.Coordinate with Information Security teams on gateway security controls, vulnerability remediation, access management, and monitoring.Ensure sensitive payment information is appropriately protected and handled according to applicable security requirements.Monitor tokenization, encryption, authentication, and other payment-security mechanisms where applicable.Support 3-D Secure and strong customer authentication processes across relevant payment flows.Monitor authentication performance, challenge rates, authentication failures, and related payment impacts.Work with Risk and Fraud teams to optimize payment controls without unnecessarily reducing legitimate transaction approvals.Support fraud-screening integrations, risk rules, transaction limits, and payment gateway controls.Monitor suspicious transaction patterns, abnormal gateway activity, and potential payment abuse.Coordinate with Compliance teams on regulatory, payment, privacy, and operational requirements.Monitor payment gateway reconciliation and ensure transaction records align with processor and settlement information.Investigate transaction mismatches, missing transactions, duplicate records, settlement exceptions, and reconciliation breaks.Work with Finance and Payment Operations teams to resolve gateway-related settlement and reconciliation issues.Monitor refunds, reversals, voids, chargebacks, and other post-transaction activities.Ensure transaction status updates are accurately reflected across gateway, merchant, processor, and internal systems.Maintain accurate gateway documentation,
