Company DescriptionSofitel Al Hamra Beach ResortJob DescriptionWe're looking for a skilled and dedicated **Mason** to join our team in Ras Al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. As a Mason, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of our facilities. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of masonry, construction, repair, and maintenance tasks with precision and professionalism. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who is committed to delivering exceptional workmanship while adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. You will work collaboratively with our Engineering and operational teams to ensure seamless facility operations and respond proactively to maintenance requirements.Perform all masonry work including wall construction, floor work, and structural repairs following established safe work practices and proceduresExecute repairs to wall plaster, renderings, and interior and exterior building walls with precision and attention to detailCarry out erection of new walls and demolition of existing walls as directed by the supervisorInstall, repair, and maintain wall and floor tile work, ensuring quality finishes that meet organizational standardsRespond immediately to all work requests concerning health and safety, demonstrating a cautious and proactive approachMaintain and repair all civil works while ensuring optimal condition and appearance through adherence to preventive maintenance programsRead and interpret shop drawings and specifications accurately, making rough estimates of required materialsUse all general repair tools and equipment efficiently and maintain them in proper working conditionHandle chemicals, paints, varnishes, strippers, and other finishing products in an environmentally responsible mannerRespond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests, maintaining courteous interactions with all stakeholdersComplete all work orders with due diligence and maintain detailed civil log books documenting problems, solutions, and daily activitiesMaintain equipment catalogs and finishes/color directories for easy reference and organizationActively participate in monthly departmental meetings, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for continuous improvementReport and document potential safety hazards and participate in emergency response activities as directedSupport the team by taking on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Civil Supervisor or Maintenance EngineersQualifications**Required Qualifications:**High school diploma or equivalentRelated technical or trades certification in masonry or civil constructionMinimum 5 years of professional experience as a mason or civil technician, preferably in the hospitality industry or engineering environmentProficiency in all aspects of masonry refurbishment and maintenance workDemonstrated ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical specificationsCompetency in using general repair tools and equipment safely and effectivelyStrong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and health and safety practicesAbility to estimate required materials and quantities accuratelyPreferred QualificationsBasic knowledge of additional building operations skill sets beyond masonryExperience working in luxury hospitality or high-end facility management environmentsFamiliarity with preventive maintenance programs and civil works managementCertification in occupational health and safetyPersonal Attributes & CompetenciesDetail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanshipExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with team membersCreative, practical, and proactive approach to problem-solvingStrong organizational and time management skillsPhysical fitness and capability to work at heights and in various environmental conditionsResilient and adaptable mindset with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesEnergetic and dynamic personality with a positive attitude toward continuous learningCommitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment
