We are conducting a search on behalf of a leading top tier EPC contractor for an experienced Head of Instrumentation to lead the instrumentation engineering function across major upstream offshore Oil & Gas projects.Role Overview:This is a senior departmental leadership position, responsible for the overall technical quality, engineering standards and delivery of instrumentation engineering activities across multiple projects. The successful candidate will provide technical and managerial leadership across the department, with oversight from concept selection through detailed design for offshore fixed-facility developments including jackets, platforms and topsides.Key Responsibilities:Lead and coordinate the Instrumentation Engineering department across multiple live offshore projectsProvide leadership to Project Section Leaders, Technical Managers, Principal Engineers, Lead Engineers and Instrumentation EngineersHold oversight and signature authority across instrumentation engineering work and deliverablesEnsure the quality, technical integrity and consistency of instrumentation engineering design outputOversee instrumentation scope from concept selection through detailed designSupport major upstream offshore fixed-facility projects, including jackets, platforms and topsidesLiaise with Supply Chain and suppliers on technical queries and procurement-related instrumentation mattersWork closely with Construction leadership to ensure engineering design intent is carried through to execution readinessDrive continuous improvement in engineering quality, technical standards and departmental performanceProvide strong technical guidance and managerial leadership across the instrumentation disciplineQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics or a related Engineering disciplineMinimum 15 years of instrumentation engineering experienceMinimum 5–7 years of experience at managerial/leadership levelStrong background within Oil & Gas upstream offshore engineeringExtensive experience with fixed offshore facilities, including jackets, platforms and topsidesStrong knowledge of instrumentation engineering across concept, FEED and detailed design stagesExperience working within a multidisciplinary EPCI engineering environmentTechnical exposure to Honeywell DCS and SCADA systemsProven ability to lead large engineering teams and maintain high standards across multiple projectsExperience supporting major national and international Oil & Gas operators in the GCC would be highly advantageous
